Vauxhall cavalier running problem.

Whats wrong with my '00 Chevy Cavalier?

• I have a 2000 chevy cavalier that was running fine. At first it started making a weird humming sound that you could hear from a block away, everything was ok at first it was running without a problem ( possibly caused a longterm effect) but just recently it started showing the engine light but it was still running good up until it showed the track off light a few days later it stopped running. Now the engine stalls when i try to start it, just yesterday i tried again and with luck it started but when i turned it off it it continued to stall. I dont want to take it to the mechanics because the only mechanics where i live are a scam they fix something to mess something up to get more money and service. Any help would be appreciated or at least some advice that could help me figure out whats wrong with it Ok let me clarify that i am not a mechanic and know little about mechanics so try not to criticise as it shows how ingnorant some people are

  It sounds like you have a couple different issues going on. Dont worry about the "TRAC-OFF" light for now, that is normally just an ABS or hub bearing issue. Get yout check engine light scanned for free at any auto parts store, the is a HUGE list of things taht can cause your problem, getting the code checked will really help. Get it scanned and let me know what it says, I'll help you from there -Ben
