What is the difference between a tranny and a shemale?

Is there a difference between a engine hooked up to a auto tranny or a manual tranny?

  • i have 2 z24's and one has no engine or transmission but it use to have a manual so it has the clutch and stuff. and i have an other z24 with a engine and a "AUTO" transmission. i want to take the engine out of z24 # 2 and put it in #1 and get a manual tranny and hook it up. would i run into any problems during the switch of engine with auto to engine with manual?

  • Answer:

the auto engine will have a flexplate, maunal engine will have a flywheel. Swap them and the ecms will be different i think, but really that should be it for he differences. A auto car has a different radiator. You will need to cut a hold in the floor and get a center console

The basic swap is not hard, but it's not very easy, either. The standard shifter might have to have a slightly relocated hole in the floorboard. The engine is the same in both cars and if not, should still bolt up the same way. Don't forget the clutch pedal!

i own a repair shop, and the wiring harness is a little different for the automatic, than it is the standard shift one, that's the only thing that would be different ,since you have both cars you could easily do this, also the computer for the automatic is a little different ,but you have both of those also,so your good on all of this, the last one of these i did i wound up buying 4 other donor cars to get all the parts i needed to finish it with, and from that point on i said id never do another one,but you should have everything you need to do it with, but i guarantee you ,you,ll wind up having to buy something,it always happens that way,but you got the majority of it anyway, all i can say is have fun,i did, good luck,i hope this help,s.

Yes there is first of all in a manual transmission you change the gears yourself where as in an automatic transmission a computer does it. Second, an automatic transmission has a torque converter and manual transmissions don't. Also in a manual transmission car you can choose which gear you want your car to be in, in an automatic car you probably won't even know what gear your car is in. Finally, manual transmission cars get better gas mileage. My recommendation would be stick with the manual you would have better control over your car and it would be more fun =)

Make sure that it is set for the gear ratio and lines up properly, the linkage might not fit right unless you cut and drill.

If you are just switching engines,no problem as long as they are the same. But if you are switching trannys to a car that was a automatic, you will have many problems.(clutch pedal, linkage, etc) Good luck
