Why do rear speakers are not working?

Rear speakers in Tahoe stopped working after...?

  • I installed a deck in my 1999 Chevy Tahoe and the rear speakers stopped working. When I set the deck to only use the back speakers it sounds like only one of the 4x10's is working. Is there a reason for this? If so how do I fix it? The way I wired was I used a harness that the deck came with and I used a harness that the dash kit came with and I wired the two together, so I could just snap it in (and out if needed). I am positive they are connected to the right wires because the wires on the harnesses both used the usual colors and I just crimped the wires with the same color together. I read somewhere that a tahoe has a factory amp somewhere that connects to the rear speakers? Could this be the porblem?

  • Answer:

check your circuits and then apply a 2x4 to the right rear window then hold your fingers at a 12 degree angle. that should do it.
