Is Van Staal worth buying?

Hi Is a classe B chevy van 1986 in great condition worth buying for 3500?

• I saw the van it was originally priced at 4200$ but it was brought down to 3500$. Any of you have experience with these camper vans or if you think it is not a good deal?   Wow, that's less than 5,500 mi driven on average a yr.Ask for records on all fluid changes. Motor oil,transmission fluid,rear end gear oil, and brake fluid. Yes, brake fluid is important because if it has an anti lock brake system on it water can damage it to the tune of $1200 +. But if it doesn't then no problem as ABS didn't become standard till 1990 You need to have a mechanic check it out and it's worth the $70-$150 for his time. Offer them $3000 if it checks out fairly good, and keep in mind all the fluid changes and possibly brakes and depending on tire age because older tires have a tendency to dry rot and even though the tread is good, on a wet road the have no grip at all, just like driving on ice.Tires will cost ya about $100-$125 a piece. But if all of this checks out OK including the tune-up, hoses ,belts then come up to $3250 and see if they will take that. But if ya don't have to do anything to it then go ahead if they turn down the $3250 and give their asking price cause this is worth it . Reason for the person not getting a lot of calls is the price of gasoline. Your mmileagewill be closer to 17-19 mpg on the highway and level highway at that, running about 55-62 mph with 12-14 mpg in town. I know cause I use to have a 1984 Chevy custom van. Believe it or not, my father bought it then after it was stolen, he got a 1990 with a 350 engine and it did get 23-25 mpg on regular gas , no less.
