Best way to get traction in a 4x2 truck ?

well you only have one traction tire so if road conditions are slippery i suggest tire chains for added traction other than that you can use a good mud and snow tire. 4x2 is only really for good road conditions or semi off-road.

Good tires is utmost and you can then decide if you need some weight in the box. Place weight directly over the tires or in the rear on the box.

Lay a big sheet of heavy mil plastic in the bed, fill it with water and let it freeze. Instant traction.

aside from converting to positraction...........good tire,s & a load of sand.........& a shovel..........in case you get stuck!

A good set of all terrain tires on the back and wide tires on the front. I've got a Ford Ranger with that set up, it is the weakest truck I have ever driven. But I can say I've never gotten it stuck, and I have had it in some bad stuff.

Invest in a set of Bridgestone Blizzak tires. They are designed for winter use only, and provide unsupassed winter traction. This also allows you to buy a summer tire that is much better handling for the summer months.
