Software testing tool...................?

I need a software testing tool for C language. the testing tool should be a part of software development life cycle. For example, ***** its a part of software development life cycle .gdb debugger this tool does not come under software development life cycle. you can also suggest many any other tool, other than testing tool, related to software development life cycle but once again it should be for C language. Note: testing tool for C language not java, perl, or any other language because I have never worked in those language till today.

How in blazes is gdb not part of the development life cycle? You use it to test, right? And testing is part of the cycle, right? Maybe you want some fancier tool like "JUnit" for Java, only for C. OK, I can understand that. Sorry, I can't help in the selection of fancier tools. But don't ignore the value of gdb, just because it's not fancy. EDIT: I just remembered a tool we used to use that was instrumental in finding memory leaks, called "Purify". Apparently the company has been bought by IBM, and is now known as "IBM Rational Purify".
