How to put together a media kit?

BMW e30 "Genesis" wide-body kit?

  • I want to put on an e30 Genesis body kit on my 1989 325i. it looks like this ( http://www.tuning.co.uk/rieger/media/00030000.jpg ). i want to know if i will need special rims or wheels to put on it or will standard rims fit just fine. Or if i will need wheel spacers to make standard rims fit? It is a wide-body kit and all the pictures and videos i've seen have those indented or pushed-in like rims so i'm not sure if those are the only rims that'll fit properly with this kit.

  • Answer:

Your standard wheels will fit, but since this kit extends the width of the fenders significantly, they'll be sitting a few inches into the fender, which will look stupid. I doubt you can buy spacers to move your stock wheels out far enough to fit that widebody kit, and if you do they probably won't be safe. Your best bet would be to find wheels with a deeper offset. Also, keep in mind that you'll need 9+ inch wide wheels in the back to make it look decent, otherwise it'll look like you have bicycle wheels in there. Hopefully you are doing something to boost the power in the car to go along with this...

That body kit was happening back in the 80's. We don't do that to e30's anymore!!!!
