How much will it cost to swap engine on a bmw 325i?

  You are going to want to find an reputable independent shop. One that has done swaps before. It will cost somewhere between $1000-1500 typically I'm assuming you have a newer 325 (E46 2000-2006) As long as you are looking at the M54 (2.8/3.0) or the S54(M3 3.2) as an upgrade it should fit. There will be some electrical differences. If you are talking about a 92-95 325 (E36) then you can have the engine from the 95 M3 (3.0) 96-99 M3(3.2) or 96-99 328 (2.8). The 3.2 and 2.8 will be OBD 2 and will have to be converted back to OBD1. (this is actually a good thing) Enjoy the extra "go"!
