Where Are BMW Maps?

Navigation system for BMW E39 540i .The maps are in Japanese .How to convert to ENGLISH?

    Remove the cd/dvd nav disc from the drive (at the left rear side of the trunk compartment) and check if it is really a Japanese version map. If it is then there is no other solution than to replace the map dvd. If it is not specifically Japanese, then the nav system has to be reprogrammed/coded using a Nav program disc by BMW. Alternatively, the car/key memory settings can be checked using a GT1 v.44 or SSS or Ista-P and adjusted if necessary. Then you can go to the Bmw store and buy a new CD. They are 200.00 dollars.
