How can I add an auxillary input to my 02 BMW 325i?

06 bmw 325i, can i add bluetooth and how much would it cost?

  • i bought a 2006 bmw 325i. It has the buttons on the steering wheel and on the radio for bluetooth, but it is not set up for this option. Is it possible to add this feature and how much would it cost to have this done?

  • Answer:

Depends on if the car is US delivery. A lot of foreign delivery cars do not have the TCU (telephone control unit) or wiring to convert. The steering wheel and radio are standard equipment with the button- but the wiring and TCU need to be there to make it work. BMW USED to offer a retrofit kit- but I believe it has been discontinued. If your car has BMW assist (SOS button) then it has (or had) a TCU and may just need to be programmed for bluetooth to work. If the TCU is inoperative or not installed you would need to purchase and have one programmed at the dealer. The TCU will probably be 6-700 in line with Kenny's estimate plus programming. Best bet would be to stop by the dealer and ask the service writer about pairing your phone- they will either pair your phone, say there is a problem- OR tell you don't have that feature
