Is my tt switchblade lure good?

Will an Audi TT be a good buy for me?

  • I curently have a 99vw beetle and I am thinking about getting an audi tt between a 01 and 03. It will be my only car and I do drive a lot ( about 12 to 13k a year). As I have heard that a tt is nothing but a dressed up beetle, will maintecen and parts be far off from what I pay for my beetle now? Is it reliable? Do you think this will be a good choice for me?

  • Answer:

The TT is named for a car named after the Tourist Trophy, a race on the Isle of Man. Most of them are not turbo, and none of them have factory twin turbo. If you have a 99 VW (notorious as just about the worst year for water-cooled VWs) and you're actually OKAY with that, you probably won't be disappointed by a TT. They aren't known as the most reliable cars in the world, but they won't be any worse than your Beetle. It's based on the same platform as the Beetle, but the suspension is different, the fit and finish should be a bit better, and the engine options, even when they're closely related, are all more powerful than their most closely related Beetle options. Oh, and of course, the TT has available AWD, the VW doesn't.

TT stands for twin turbo. They are supposed to be good cars, have never owned one though.
