If you accidentally scratched a CD?

Can a cd get scratched if the cd case was on the floor ?

• Ok today when I came home from work some body in my house knocked down my cd and. Some of my video games. That I had on the entertainment center in the living room on the floor along with my video games and. The cd I have is a double disc digipack cd and when I looked it the cds that were in their cases can a cd get scratched from bein on the floor or not

  It depends if they were knocked out of the circular bracket that holds the CDs in place inside the case. If that does occur then yes, it is possible to inflict scratches to the inner portion of the CD based on the amount (and severity) of movement and impact they suffered. If the CD ends up face down on the floor itself,without the case, then it is also possible it could get abrasion scratches from the fibers of the carpet; that would depend upon the amount of pressure and movement of the CD across any given space of the floor. Shake the case... if the CD sounds loose, you have a problem..
