How do I get spots that are inside my camera lens out?

How do I get sand out my camera lens?

  • I went to the beach with my friend last weekend and foolishly got camera inside my lens. the camera itself is working fine, and the extended focus ring is working fine it's just the lens cover that's stuck and won't move. One half of the cover lens is unseen and hidden and the other is peeking out infront of the lens itself, leaving a small black smudge in the right hand side corner whenever I take a photo. Is this doable to fix yourself or will I need to send it off to a professional? I'm going on holiday tomorrow though so it would be better if there would be some kind of way for me to fix it myself. Thank you.

  • Answer:

You got a camera inside your lens ? i've never heard that one before :)) You could try to take it apart yourself, but you kinda have to know how and have at least basic tools and technical ability. But i would still send it off to a professional, specially if the lens is valuable (not a cheap one), although if sand got in it can't be a very good one. I don't know how much they charge for cleaning, but if your lens is less then $200 it might not be worth it. See if you can find a youtube video with someone taking apart your lens, then maybe you could try it yourself.
