Is this camera good Canon HV20?

For a novist wedding videographer: Canon GL2 or Canon Hv20?

  • I am a recent graduate beginning my own videography business. I'm filming my first wedding this summer and want to buy an affordable camera; nothing under $1000. From the research i've done, i've heard the Canon GL2 is a great professional starting camera, but have also been reading from numerous articles that filming with a canon hv20 would be better quality because it is HD, plus cheaper. Would filming with a canon hv20 look unprofessional at a wedding considering it's a consumer camera? What camera would you guys recommend? Thanks!

  • Answer:

I would suggest to even have a look at Canon VIXIA HV40 HD HDV Camcorder I has the Native 24p Mode This is a feature previously found only on Canon's professional camcorders. Native 24p Mode allows 24 frames per second, instead of the standard 60i, to be captured and recorded. It is a must for serious filmmaking work, as 24 frames per second is the frame rate of film.
