2003 Toyota Camry Issues.?

  • 2 years ago i bought a 2003 Toyota Camry Altise V6 with an odo of 160,000km. For each year its done 50,000km, so 100,000km in 2 years of ownership. I had no major problems with it because i change the engine oil every 7000km. As much as im looking after my car, i have noticed some issues with its performance. And they are listed below: *I can feel every bump, every pot hole on the road through my steering wheel, it feels so uncomfortable. *Everytime i got over a speed hump, i can feel the shock through my steering wheel, and hear the front suspension making a noise, it sounds like there isnt any shock abosorbers to absorb the shock if you know what i mean. It doesnt absorbe shock from the road at all. *When i cruise at low speeds under low revs, for example cruising at 70km/h, i feel the car jolt, and jerk. Its not a smooth drive anymore and it really annoys me. I dont know why it does that. *When i accelerrate fast from stop, my car takes time to gain power and speed, it doesnt change gears evenly and it annoys me because it jerks when it changes gears. *Its sluggish (slow) on acceleration. *My tyres sound weird, as if somethings stuck in them, i checked my tyres and theres nothing in them. The sound can be heard, and i can feel what evers wrong with my tyres on my steering wheel. I cleaned the throttle body, changed the oil but after acouple thousand kilometers the same issues stated above occur again. I checked if my car is smoking out from the exhaust, which i cant see, so i dont see smoke, but if there was how could i check if my cars smoking out of its exhaust. How can i know if my cars smoking if i cant see it when im driving. PLEASE help me, give me your opinions, i want to fix these issues before it ends up being major problems. What should i do for my car? What should i ask my mechanic to fix so i know he wont rip me off? Please help.

  • Answer:

Hi with that much mileage on this car what do you expect it probably needs new shocks by now and what about the engine changing the oil although a good thing does not rectify the real issue of wear in the engine i hope you change the filter as well as this is what collects the swarf from the engine it must be nearly due for an engine overhaul now so you might like to ask yourself is it really worth all this expense as it might not be worth it when it starts with a 9 year old car it never seems to stop. it becomes a money pit the transmission is telling you already it is due to be changed. the jerky action is the best sign things are failing. swarf is metal being shaved off when metal runs against metal in an engine pistons in bores. etc.
