What do I need to swap a B18C1 into my civic?

How do i swap a b18c1 gsr engine in my 91 da integra?

  • Right now i have a 91 acura integra with a b18a1 motor with a tanabe concept g exhaust and intake. I blew my head and now i have bad compression in some of my cylinders. im lucky im still able to drive it. I want to swap the stock motor with a b18c1 gsr motor. and my questions are: 1. Would i need to change my mounts? 2. What would i need to keep from my original motor? (i.e. wiring harnesses, ecu, etc.) 3. Would i be able to keep my exhaust with the swap? 4. Do you think its a good idea to go ahead with this swap? or should i just buy a rebuilt b18a1 engine and build that up? 5. Is there anything else that i should know about with going through with this swap?

  • Answer:

1.. no you can use your stock mounts. 2.. keep your harness, and clutch if your not gonna replace it, keep it around for spare parts you might need... sensors ect 3.. yes, but not your header. 4..if you have the money to spend then yes the gsr is a much better motor. 5..i'd suggest converting to obd1 and using the p72 ecu. also in the future or right now if you have the money get a b16 or gsr trans, the ls trans sucks and you'll notice a big difference with a shorter b16 trans.

every thing he said but if your going to use your obd 0 harness... you would need to route a vtec line and use an obd 0 b16 ecu
