  • Answer:

OK, you want fast for cheap... 1. short ram air intake ($150) 2. cat back exhaust ($200-$400) 3. header ($300) 4. intake manifold ($250) 5. Fuel rail ($150) 6. performance fuel injectors ($100-$200) you will be quicker then stock but not the fastest on the road. speed costs money

I think in another question you said it was automatic. To me an automatic Acura Integra LS would be a good everyday car. Not fast, just good at going from point A to point B. I'm assuming this is your only car. When it comes to making cars faster, once you start modifying them it may start to damper on the cars reliability. And reliability is what Honda's and Acura's are known for. Inexpensive mods for that car would be an intake and exhaust, but that could also cost hundreds of dollars, and won't make any real noticeable difference in performance. Any real power modifications such as a VTEC head swap, turbo, supercharger, NOS, will be pricey. If you decide to sell, with $4000 you could get a faster car which I would reccomend you get a manual. If you want to stick with Honda, you could probably score a Civic EX or a 92-96 Prelude or even another Integra with a manual. Some other possibilities would be a Turbo DSM (Eagle Talon, Plymouth Laser, Mitsubishi Eclipse), Volkswagen GTI, an Old Turbo Dodge, 95-99 Neon, Ford Probe/Mazda MX6, Mazda MX3, Nissan 240SX, there are a lot of possibilities. And also please keep any racing at the track. Tickets for it are expensive, and will make your insurance skyrocket. In Michigan where I live it's a 6 point misdemeanor ticket, which means lots of court and lots of attorney fees, which is $$$$. Not to mention it's also dangerous......

first of all.....to make it fast for less than 4k is next to impossible. to make a car fast to have to first have a good base to start with. im an import guy myself. but something with an inline 6 or v8 is going to yield you more power for that 4k than putting 4k into a 4 cylinder. as of you saying your going to race on the road.....your just retarded. putting lives at risk just to look cool....little bit of advise. keep it on the track. i almost lost a really good friend cause she happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time and was t boned by a person street racing. now for 4k you could do a homemade turbo kit (aka junkyard turbo kit) as long as you know what your doing

cheap will usually get you fu**ed in the end, if you spare no cost or parts youll get good results. putting nitrous oxide is bad in an unmodified car. if you really want good horse power you should invest in a good turbo or supercharger. also if you go LS/VTEC you will get more horse power, but if you really want to stay cheap then intake, headers, exhuast, cams, pulleys ect. join team-interga.net and honda-tech.com stay legal from one street racer to you =] get your car crushed isnt woth it anymore or go on some mountain roads, which i dont recomend being that i doubt you can drive that well will extra power

Any car with Nitrous will be cheap and fast... lol seriously. it is a long road to make the car fast, but there are certainly a handful of 300-500+ HP road driven integras if you have the money and time to do it. if you are looking for cheaper power, maybe some sort of factory turbo car like a neon turbo, older eclipse, etc. just dont kill yourself, and build a nice budget for what you want. Its easy to go over budget and it stinks when you cant finish what you thought would be great.
