Dairy farm-I WOULD LIKE TO START ONE DIARY FARM WHT TYPE OF COWS CAN I CHOOSE & HOW MUCH IT COST TO START ?

You need a farm with enough acreage for the cows to be out at pasture and enough hay field to put up hay for the winter. You'll need a dairy barn, milking equipment, a farm truck, and on and on. You'd need about $500,000 to just get the barest beginnings. Most people who get into dairy farming these days inherit the family farm. There are a lot of different dairy cattle. A lot would depend upon the climate you're in. The cows are the least of the problem, but a bred heifer would probably run around $500 for a pedigreed dairy cow. Cows don't produce milk unless they have a calf. Unless you keep a bull, you'll need to pay for AI.(artificial insemination) That's another expense. If you're seriously interested, you should get a job on a dairy farm. Quite often they're looking for people to milk. You have to be up at a super early hour to milk.You'd learn how the equipment works, and get a general idea of what goes into dairy farming.

Start with a pre-existing farm. Start as a farm hand and learn the process from the ground up. Most farmers don't sit in their houses pulling in tons of cash. Most do everything needed to be done, and more. Most farms are inherited, but many children do not go into their parent's field of work, and the farm often gets put up for sale.
