Biggest Insect Ever what was it?

  • My wife and I saw an insect on our screen door that we have never ever seen before, in real life, tv or books. She Google largest insects in the world, but nothing came up to what we saw. It was as long as my hand from wrist to tip of m finger. Green in color, long, long legs, kind of stick like but LARGE! We studied it from the other side of the screen before it flew away. Does anyone have any idea what it could have been? We live in the USA, never seen anything like this before!
