Can you get a chemical burn from a mock orange tree?

How do i get rid of tent caterpillars?

  • they are on my apple tree and the way the tree is shaped it is too hard to get to where they are so i usually turn my garden hose on them with a jet spray nozzle, but then the next day there is more. i read where people say cut the branches and burn them or even torch them while they are on the tree but i am unable to do that i was hoping there would be some sort of spray or chemicals that i can use on the tree that will not harm the apples to where i cannot eat them

  • Answer:

get some Bt and pray it on the leaves near them. It also works great on potao bugs and corn ear worms (spray the silks early). http://www.ext.colostate.edu/pubs/insect/05556.html

Fire is a sure option, but it wont work for you, as u said... BT toxin will work in long run, they do not have immediate effect. U may consider a home-remedy we use here in India, use detergent [powder type, like "Tide" etc]..make a solution of your choice but don't dilute too much... Now Spray on them....this works... [U may also use Kerosene oil or petrol, but that's more risky...]
