What is the way to get Jobs in Singapore for Indians?

Is there room for animal sciences in Singapore?

  • How does someone who does not have any relevant background in animal sciences like zoology, ethology, university biology etc... get into this field? Is the only way the expensive way? Grow a fortune, get out of this country, spend another 3-5 years overseas and then come back to Singapore and realize there are no jobs available, then move abroad again? I'm sure there is a way... but what is it? None of the local universitys' websites are helpful in this aspect. No one I know has ever gone this route (i.e. mid-career switch to a professional, degree-required field).

  • Answer:

The National University of Singapore is an excellent university with an incredible biology department. I gave a talk there in 2004 and there were a number of people that were doing very good research in ecology, evolution, and conservation. Not sure exactly what you want to do in 'animal sciences', but you should not have to go abroad and spend a fortune.
