How long can a typical spider go without having any food?

SPIDER HELP!! if you cant find a spider, how would you find it?

• so a couple of minutes ago, i was in my friends basement, when we found a huge spider hanging from the ceiling. then it fell on the floor, and it climbed under the couch. So my friend and I moved her whole basement, and still couldn't find the spider!! Is there any special food or object that we could put around the house and the spider will go to the food or object, and we could catch it? PLEASE HELP!!!

  You could catch a jar full of different kinds of insects and release them live in the basement. Spiders are very paitent so you may need to wait a few hours for them to come out. You should also do it in the dark so night vision goggles will be necessary. Have an insect net ready because spiders are very fast. Then explain to your mom or wife or husband why you brought all those insects into the house.
