What exactly is a marine biologist?

What education to become a marine biologist?

  • What education and courses do i need to take in university to become a Marine biologist who only works on the behavior, the conservation and environmental issues of seals? Would a masters degree get me this job. I have no interest in teaching. Would i still want a PHD? What could a PHD do for me? I would like to work in a team where we all help out and everyone has a different role to play. Is this possible? I would like to study the seals behavior and if there are any changes in behavior look at the enviromental changes and see if they conect in anyway. And in the process try to conserve them. Can i do this? Is this even a job? If so what is the title? If someone could answer these questions that would be great and please no rude comments or putdowns. Thanks so much!

  • Answer:

I think you should contact a future guidance counsellor so they can point you in the direction of your desired career. Maybe also look up online for the uni you wish to study at, and see if you are able to contact someone to ask about biological science courses and anything else you need to study to be qualified. You don't want to pick something in science that doesn't exactly get you where you want to be. Good luck and follow your dreams :)
