Why do people mess with wildlife?

  • I will never understand why people(like steve irwin and wildlife people) mess with wildlife? Some people just dont get it. I saw one man at a zoo leaning over the railing trying to feed a wolf! Then I saw a mother of two leaning over to pet a bear? People are stupid! I was at a "defend wildlife" convention where they brought in this wolf---i stayed the h*ell out of its way while every one else petted the wolf. I dont care how domesticated this wolf was---people dont understand one concept: Its a wolf! Its likes to kill! Its in the DNA. Here is my commonsense approach to wildlife: Always allow wildlife the right-of-way. Stay out of their territory. They dont want to play or be friends with you. They feel no compassion AND dont piss them off likes steve irwin did. Show wildlife ultimate respect and leave them alone. They like to hunt and kill. Its natural to them. Dont take it personal if you are friendly towards it and it attacks you. Simple advice. Whats your guys opinions?

  • Answer:

I agree with you, however because of some people who "mess with wildlife" we are able to know it better, to find interesting information about it and, at the end of the day we learn how to protect our self and in the same time how to protect the wildlife. Someone must do it.

Absolutely! Agreed 100%. My opinion doesn't differ much from yours... although I also have to throw in the fact that we keep on messing with DNA, trying to make things "better" or "superb over their original states", which is in a way related to what you were talking about. All in all, people have become idiots and forgotten where they came from. The planet. We are part of nature, but somehow we consider ourselves superior to animals and all things that are in their original (unmolested) state... and boundaries of mortal life. We keep trying to change everything to suit our needs but, someday, we will realize that we were terribly wrong. I can't wait for the day too arrive when we go back to hunting and fishing for food and building huts from leaves and grass... and building fires from nothing in the rain, just to stay alive another day. I'll look forward to it.

because they are total losers!

One of Steve Irwin's goals (and many others who "mess with wildlife") was to improve the awareness of animals. He always promoted respect among animals. He may have boosted eco-tourism and such along the way, which arguably isn't a great thing, but overall I find it hard to criticize him. I'd argue isolation from the environment and "wild"-life is exactly what breeds ignorance about it.
