How do I become a Marine mammal vet?

What steps do I have to take to be a marine vet?

  • I want to become a marine vet. I want to go to University of Vermont for pre-vet. Then do I have to go to vet and exotic animal then marine vet? or can i just go to a different veterinary collage that also has a marine biology course or a lab around and work there. I live in New York and I know i'll have to move to Florida probably. OR I could like study the animals and live on a boat or rescue them. I would prefer to rescue them would that count as a marine vet? I'm only in 8th grade and there is a career project I have to do

  • Answer:

1-have high enough scores to even apply to take the entrance exam. Everything else is moot if that isn't in order.

I'm going to school for Zoology in Ohio. I have taken a few pre-vet courses but those don't necessarily help you for marine animals. At BGSU I majored in Biology with a specialization in Marine Biology. You would probably have to study either of those courses to be a "Marine Vet." I plan to use my Zoology degree to work in an aquarium.
