So they don't live in dirt unless it is right by a lake or river. Another thing that helped was to know that only 3-8 people in the United states get it each year and that half of those cases are in the state of Florida and Texas. So That means your chances of getting it are less than 0.001%. Usually the people who end up getting it are people who swim in fresh water like lakes and rivers. What happens is they get the water up their nose and then get infected with it. Hope you can get over this nervousness. My advice is just not to worry about it. Hope this helps
