What are the abiotic and biotic factors that birds need for survival and why?
-
Answer:
Just some, off the top of my head: Abiotic: Photoperiod (light/dark periods) to regulate their activities (especially breeding) Water (for drink and also, in the case of aquatic birds, as their habitat) Temperature range (varies according to the species' adaptations) Oxygen (for obvious reasons), wind (air in movement) which can aid or limit flight Other meteorological phenomena Biotic: Food (whatever it may be: seeds, plants, nectar, carrion, mammals, birds, fish, insects, other invertebrates, etc) Their biotic environment including plants, soil animals, even their predators because they keep population levels within sustainable numbers
