Do spiders spin their own webs all the time or do they sometimes use the old webs of dead spiders?

species such as the cob web and orb weavers usually dwell in their own webs,and with food,and lack of disturbance will often stay there through their entire life. some species like active hunters,don't spin webs to trap prey. and some like the cellar spider(daddy long leg spider) are pirates and will steal food from other spiders webs, sometimes killing their host and homesteading the web. there are a couple species that do consume their own web.

there's an atypic species of spiders who instead of defending the territory when approached by the similar species, they leave the territory and push another spider into the exile. i think they share their webs in the process. However majority of spiders do avoid alien webs. there's no smoke without fire and no web without a spider and who knows what size it is.

Spiders eat old spider webs. They do this especially with their own when damaged to reuse some of the proteins they had to use to spin the web in the first place.

id a few cobwebs behind this bar . but the've gone now, i think the rats are using them in the celler as hammocks haha~]

They always spin a new web.....
