What kind of small insect is this?

Does anyone know what kind of insect/spider baby might pull a small, white, flat (football shaped) sac behind?

  • I have found numerous of these little sacs hanging on outside walls of my house. On two occasions I have seen these white sacs (or whatever they are) moving across the patio, presumably being pulled by something (I imagine some sort of spider). Anyone have any leads or ideas on what these might be?

  • Answer:

It is most likely not a juvenile spider, probably just a small spider carrying an egg sac. It may also be some insect wrapped in a web that it will eat. Here is a picture of a spider carrying an egg sac : http://www.flickr.com/photos/gato-ranch/3499361571/ Not all egg sacs will be shaped like this one either.
