What are decomposers?

What are decomposers?

  • Answer:

Things that use dead things for energy and don't make waste from them. For example, vultures eat dead things, but they then poo out some of the nutrients. The bacteria that eat that poo, however, use all of the nutrients in it. They can break down organic material into its inorganic components, like nitrogen. Most decomposers are either fungus or bacteria.
