What types of sea creatures do humans need to fear when swimming in the ocean other than sting rays and sharks

  • Obviously, with today's news of the crocodile man, we all are reminded that the natural world can be very dangerous. Are there any deadly sea creatures in the Mediterranean that I need to worry about?

    There a sharks in the Med, and not all of them live on gigantic luxury yachts. Jelly fish are nasty but you'd have to be very unlucky to die even from multiple stings. Sea urchins' spines are painful (consider wearing those horribly unfashionable rubber swimming shoes where sea urchins abound - Croatia for instance). The box jelly fish is deadly, but likes warm water - above 26° C. and lives off the Great Barrier reef. Australia has more deadly fish, reptiles, insects and spiders than any where else in the world - but hey - I'm still here. Worrying is a mug's game.

You must remember whenever you are in nature, you have crossed the safety net. You are in their house, and lots of animals they may see harmless can and will be very dangerous. But do watch out for, jellyfish, sea snakes, squid, all types of fish, stingrays, octipus, seals, otters, whales and the list goes on and on. Just be careful cause they are out there.

The Med. is a nursery for the great white shark. however the only really dangerous things in the med are itallian divers. you are pretty safe.

Heres some but not necessarily found in the Mediterranean.Portuguese man of war,sea snakes,certain octopus found in Australia,jelly fish,lion fish,fire fish cone snails and sea urchins,I would not be afraid of them just careful,besides your chances of dying or getting hurt in a plane or car crash are greater
