Is it true that a girl shouldn't ask out a guy?

• Okay so like i have the biggest crush ever on this one guy and i told by best friend that i wanted to ask him out and she told me that it was "against girl code" to ask out a guy. That if he didn't ask you out then their really was nothing going on between us. So is it true can i not ask him out because if he didn't ask me by now then there's no chance for us to be together???

  Well it depends on you I don't think it's wrong but i still think it's more proper when the guy ask the girl out but i mean being in high school we don't need to be proper i waited for my boyfriend to ask me out but i told him i liked him and basically just said i was waiting for him to ask me out - i made an obvious hint- even though he asked me out first i was always the one that would flirt first and I would text him and lean on him, ETC. So in a way you don't need to actually ask him out to get him to ask you out guys are just oblivious and sometimes they don't know when to step in or make a move so the girl has to do it ha ha so if you wanna ask him out do it but I can say that it usually isn't that way and if you feel awkward about it just let him know how you feel if he likes you he will then ask you out. but i mean whatever floats YOUR boat not your friends :]
