Are there differences in depicting men and women in TV ads?

Isn't it true women are not attracted to men?

  • Despite what some people say, women are more attracted to women (just google "women are prettier", "the male body is" or anything like that and you'll see plenty of "straight" women bashing guys- now look for "beautiful men" or anything like that and you'll be bombarded with gay men's opinions). But let's not limit our pool to the web; tv ads, mags and just abut everything targeted at women show half/naked women; regardless of what a few of them say, women prefer to look at women. Women's lesbian leaning is so obvious that only a blind guy could deny it.

  • Answer:

Men are more visually motivated and affected than women, so using female bodies in ads is a better bang for the buck. Many women might say that women's bodies are "prettier", but I don't think that means they are attracted to them. They might check out other women as a means of comparison, but they mostly are attracted to handsome, rugged, or hunky, rather than "pretty", if you're talking about sexual attraction. (lesbians aside).
