Hi Nadeem, Everyone can give you several ranges and you'll have to pick according to your standard of living. Generally, if you earn anything above OR 1100, you should be able to afford a decent standard of living as well as save some. (OR = Omani Riyals and everything I have mentioned here is monthly expense) Apartment rents range from OR 300 - 600, groceries across all GCC are the same, just go to Carrefour UAE website and convert to Omani Riyals. Electricity and water is generally included in the Rent of the Apartment - anyways, reserver OR 200 for groceries and OR30-40 for medium cell phone usage. DSL rates are as follows from Omantel: 512 Kbps = OR12 1 Mbps = OR19 2 Mbps = OR29 4 Mbps = OR39 8 Mbps = OR99 Since Oman is, infrastructure-wise very very underdeveloped, therefore Internet usage is capped unless you go for the OR99 option. Lame, but true. Additional tip is to look for an apartment in the newly developed areas such as Al-Khwair if you don't mind driving to the main business area (called CBD area).
