How come Ethiopia is not part of the ICC?

  • I have been following the case in Sudan, specifically the ICC case against President Omar al-Bashir. I know that he moves about through many African nations and I noticed that one nation he traveled to was Ethiopia. It then mentioned that Ethiopia wasn't part of the International Crimes Court so they have no requirement to extradite al- Bashir, but I was wondering why they were not a part of the ICC? Any information would be helpful, I'm just curious! Thanks!

  • Answer:

Ethiopian leaders themselves are wanted for crimes against ethnic Somalis in Ogadenia region and Oromo ppl in Oromia.
