Where can I go in Africa?

I was in Africa (south Africa) Durban and Johannesburg in December We had a great time as to safety it is safe during the day. After dark it is not recommended to go out there is 54% unemployment but the people are wonderful loving and kind we went on safari and had a great time ... I hate to agree with the other post but the most help you can give is to be there as a tourist as most jobs there are from the tourist industry an old adage says give a man a fish and he will starve teach a man to fish and he will survive if you want to help out support the industry of that country ... buy products ... enjoy being a tourist and have fun too

Well the days of going to Africa to help some "poor" is over, there are poor people everywhere, even in America there are homeless, poor people. I would suggest to go for business, travel, as a tourist. If you want Safari, lions, elephants the whole nine yards it's either Kenya or Botswana. If you want History, civilizations,countries like Egypt, Ethiopia, Mali, Nubia etc. If you want the beach etc, it's Tanzania, South Africa, Madagascar. If you want ride camels in the sahara desert, belly dance and eat falfal, go to North Africa. So many choices, and please educate yourself about Africa, before you say I want a place to help poor ppl, Africa is the second biggest continent in the world, it's bigger than Europe and America, it has more population than Europe and America, and it's older then both.
