Middle Eastern Music for Guitar?

Does anyone know what that middle eastern music style is called. you know the music in prince of persia the new movie, or like in the mummy. Its an old world stlyle i think kinda dark, but i dont know if it is Arabic, Persian. i want to learn how to play it onb my guitar

Which track do you mean , some of the tracks sound more Arabic-Turkish combo. It also depends on the instrument and maqam used . There are several Arabic maqam (scale) and there is a Persian Maqam and a Turkish Maqam and a Kurdish Maqam (which many Arab songs use Kurd Maqam as well). What I am saying is you can have an Arabic song on Persian Maqam and a Persian song on the Arabic Maqam , it is all possible. Like I said which song or track do you mean?
