What type of career can I get?

What type of career can I get from studying world events, specializing in the Middle East and Africa?

  • I have been, for the last 1-2 years been studying current events and some of the background information on world events especially in the Middle East and Northeastern Africa. I have attempted to keep track of everything reported out of this region of the world as well as all other parts of the world. I just graduated high school but I know an enormous amount of information. So, what type of career, after going to college, could I get with this type of knowledge? Would I have to write books to make a living?

    You could get a degree in "Conflict Management" and specialize in Middle Eastern/North African affairs....that work pays great money and is very rewarding when you can help countries and industries reach agreements that help people. You could also write books. Are you American? Well if you are and get work at the Embassy in Cairo you would be paid in American Dollars , and you would be making money thats equivalent to some sort of celebrity....besides Egypt is an adventure. Try working for the government, especially the UN. You can still write books when you're in the field :) You have to start small and work your way up, talk to you're local MP (or whatever the equivalent to that is if you're i nthe states) and work from there. Good luck.

You can be a college professor or an embassy officer. You can also be in Foreign Service or Travel and Tourism. Do whatever your interest is and whatever makes you happy. Good Luck!
