Is there a hotel in nigeria called the limelight?

I Think Its A Nigeria Scammer?

  • I believe my mother is being scammed but she wont believe me, she's being sucked in by the pathetic crap. Basic story, they met online, he's in trouble, cant get back 'home' has no money left and his employer gave him a check that he cant 'cash' there. been bashed and has no money and food and the bill for the hotel. he actually sent a cheque over here for about 1.2 million and wants us to 'cash' it for him in our account or something, and that we can keep some money too.. but i researched that and that we have to pay back or something for fraud?? but i cant remember. She took it to the bank and they said it looks real enough but wont find out till it goes in but my mum didnt check it in. He asked for couple of thousands to 'fly' home. (idiot sent the money) Now, apparently he's being helped by the 'vise Governor' to send him 'home' and they even told my (idiot) of a mother to send him the money for him to get 'home'. You would think. (ask your family for help, you have a phone your talking off to us and internet, get in contact with them?) but nooo... he has NO family (what about friends?) He never mentioned them. just a stranger he met on a dating site. Born in Africa but has a USA accent. (bullshit) I wasn't meant to pick up the phone but i did, and i couldn't really understand one word he said. He definitely sounded African or something along those lines. And when my mother was talking to the 'vise Governor' i listened in the ear piece and it sounded exactly like the other guy that's in 'trouble' but a faster voice? ive looked up some info they gave me but i haven't found not one thing. I just have a question. Is there a so called 'VISE GOVERNOR' In a Police department in Nigeria Apparently he didn't want my (idiot) of a mother to tell anyone about them because they are 'investigating' this guy to get him 'home' the start of the number for this vise Gov is 0011 And this 'troubled' guy is 23480 - Nigeria. So you would figure he is a Nigeria citizen

ROFLMAO!!! Tell your mother to think realistically for a moment, if she was stuck in a country with a phone and the internet and apparently had a government helping him get home would you ask the first random on the internet you spoke to if they'll cash a "cheque for 1.2 MILLION dollars" ? In fact would you trust someone you've NEVER met before with a cheque for 1.2 MILLION dollars? Of course not, because if some stranger in another country sent me 1.2 million dollars to cash in my bank account, like I'd give it back to him. lmao. How would you even give it back to him if he apparently doesn't have a bank account? Get the drift? it's all fake. lmao. You're mom is getting played hardcore. People like your mom shouldn't be allowed near a computer until they manage to finish an internet safety course.

How could anyone not see this obvious scam? Vise Governor of Police? There's no such thing. Is from Australia but has a US or African accident? Your mum needs to wake up

How could your mother fall for such a blatant scam? It really amazes me how people still get suckered when even Oprah has done at least two shows about this. http://www.romancescam.com/forum/portal.php http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/341953/what_is_an_internet_romance_scam.html?cat=9 EDIT - if he were really from Australia and had money problems, his company would transfer him money through the Australian embassy or even co-sign an emergency loan for him. There is no reason to EVER send money to anyone overseas. If they are legitimate, their employer or govt will help them - they don't ask people they've never even met. A single phone call to his supposed employer's office in Australia or the Australian embassy in Nigeria will confirm this is a scam and this person doesn't even exist.
