You are most likely talking to a west african male pretending to be a woman. What site did you meet them on? This is a common ruse that they use to get money out of a American. They think we have lots of money here and they are entitled to it. Ask them to get on live webcam for you. A real girl will get on webcam. A nigerian male scammer will not reveal his identity. Did they use a modeling picture on you? Lagos, Nigeria is the romance scammer capitol of the world. It is one of the mose crime ridden citys in all of Africa. Tell them to go to the US embassy there, if they are from the us. They can get them home. former moderator anti scammers. There is most likely no hotel like this there.

I asked my husband what he thought of your question, He is Nigerian and straight away he said its a scam.. Sadly it is really common for this to happen, this could really be a guy, even if you see them on webcam etc it could be the persons gf or sister.... Do not send any money, instead suggest that you help contact the police etc or say that you have some contacts IN nigeria who have never heard of the place.. see how quick they change! good luck and don't send a penny! DON'T LET THIS CHANGE YOUR OPINION OF NIGERIANS.. YES SOME PEOPLE DO THIS BUT THE BIGGEST VICTIM OF THE 419 SCAM IS NIGERIAN PEOPLE THEMSELVES!!

This is a scam, the perpetrator has another 2 or 3 dozen people the same story and has them on the line too, waiting to get their money. Put it out of your mind, there is no girl, there is no hotel, there is only someone waiting to part you from your money.
