Is there a hotel in nigeria called the limelight?

Has anyone ever heard of a Jessica Wilson stuck in Nigeria at Hotel called the Crystal Hotel?

  • She has provided very little detail, which leads me to think that this is a scam. However if it is not a scam I do not want to know and not looked into it. I met her on a site called tagged.com kind of like myspace.

  • Answer:

It's fraud run and don't look back

If it is an email sent from Nigeria asking for money, it is most likely to be a scam. Nigerians are famous (or infamous) for their scams. The most famous scam they use is called Nigerian Letter. This one you mentioned sounds like the Spanish Prisoner: The Spanish Prisoner is a confidence trick dating back to the early 1900s. In its original form, the confidence man (con-man) tells his victim (the mark) that he is in correspondence with a wealthy person of high estate who has been imprisoned in Spain under a false identity. The alleged prisoner cannot reveal his identity without serious repercussions, and is relying on the confidence trickster to raise money to secure his release. The confidence trickster offers to let the victim supply some of the money, with a promise that he will be rewarded generously when the prisoner returns; financially and perhaps also by being married to the prisoner's beautiful daughter. However, once the victim has turned over his money, he learns that further difficulties have arisen, requiring more money, and the trickster continues attempting to get more money until the victim is cleaned out and the process ends, presumably with the victim realizing he has been defrauded and that there is neither a rich man, nor a reward coming to him.

It's a scam With a name like that, I assume she's telling you she's a US or UK citizen? If she is and were truly stuck in a hotel, the British High Commission or American Embassy Emergency Citizen Services would be helping her. You can contact the embassy of her supposed country to inform them you've been contacted by one of their country's nationals who cannot leave the country for some reason, and let the embassy deal with it. That's what they do - help their nationals in foreign countries. There is no Crystal Hotel in Nigeria. There is a Crystal Park Hotel located in Aba http://www.nigeriannet.com/travel/hotels.shtml http://www.4hotels.co.uk/nigeria/aba-56615.html http://www.smoothhound.co.uk/nigeria/aba44494.html Call the hotel directly if you want confirmation that she is actually a guest there or not Just email her to tell her that you've been in contact with her country's embassy and they are going to send a Consular official to help her - I'd be curious to see her response. You can go on sites like 419eater.com if you want to see how you can string her along like she's been stringing you along. There are tons of examples and pictures as well.

It's Absolutely a scam, dude!. I get emails like that every other day. Someone apparently "stuck" abroad or a "foreign diplomat" needing help retrieving large sums of money from some bank account. They all want your money or want you to unwittingly participate in some financial crime. DELETE!
