    Hi, It is the most developed country in Africa due to its rich natural beauty and the influence of foreign cultures. I think that the crime is caused by Apartheid, poor ethics and drug abuse. During Apartheid lots of Black youth were denied a proper education. Thus many of them turned to crime and this has passed on from generation to generation. Drug abuse is also a major problem which we need to curb. In my area their are plenty of youth addicted to a drug called Sugars. The addicts will do heinous things to get hold of that drug including crimes. On the other hand some of them are also harmless. Lastly, many citizens here have more ethics and a lack of manners. Thus they dont really care about the next persons well- being. This leads to them comitting crimes. However I believe that this will eventually change in future generations to come as the black youth start getting educated and more awareness regarding drug abuse is raised. South Africa has a bright future!

I don't get it either, but I have heard that from some friends(african americans) that have went there for vacation and enjoyed it there and wanted to start a business there but when some settled and started a business there it was another story that some came back to America because of crime, there baby rapings like no mans business over there and their crime is in another level. The good parts are where the white people live or resorts and stuff. They even hate other africans, especially black africans. I have friends from other parts of Africa and have mentioned the hostility they get from native south africans. another puzzling thing is that country hosted the 2010 world cup, any way maybe it was in the white people areas. going for a vacation there vs. living there are two different things from what I have heard from my friends, who have sworn they are never going back there again.

It is a developed country, thanks to white rule. When black rule came along, things went to hell and the borders opened up. People from all over Africa flocked there to get themselves a piece of the actions. Criminals are often not South African, but from poor neighbouring countries.
