I am traveling to 6 mid-east and African countries, is there one sim card I can buy?

This is the best info I could gather, Vodafone operates in Egypt & Qatar Zain operates in Kuwait, Bahrain , Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Sudan, Iraq, Lebanon Etisalat operates in Egypt , UAE, Nigeria, India, & Pakistan. There is also a new one called VIVA operating in Kuwait & Bahrain which is owned by Saudi STC. In Oman , its Oman Mobile , Nawras, and the 3rd one I am not sure could be Voda ? As far as I know they all use different SIMs (for the same carrier) in different countries , except for Zain which uses the same cards apparently operating as one network. So other than that your best bet is to buy a cheap visitor SIM in each country you visit which means a different number every time. (but these usually come preloaded with enough credits so you wont have to pay per minutes) There is a third more expensive option of getting Thuraya which is a satellite phone but it works on terrestrial GSM too when the signal is available within 130+ countries.(their satellites do not cover Americas)
