What are Kenyans good at or famous for?

Are the vast majority of Kenyans full-blooded black?

  • Are the vast majority of Kenyans full-blooded or do they have a history of miscegenation like Sierra Leone, Equatorial Guinea, and the African diaspora? I read that 30% of black sub-Saharan Africans have mixed-race ancestry down the line. I wanted to know if majority Kenyans are genetically 99%-100%? I'm simply asking this because some people keep insisting that they're not as "black" as West Africans, since Kenya borders the Horn of Africa, assuming they've intermingled with Northeast Africans. Sure, they look different, but sub-Saharan Africans are the most diverse and have the most varied phenotypes in the planet, so can someone please explain this to me? Was miscegenation prevalent during colonialism in Kenya? Have they largely intermingled with Northeast Africans. I really hope that was not the case.

  • Answer:

Kenya is not one ethnic. The have ethnic Somalis in North Eastern Kenya, they have mixed Arabs and Bantus in the Coast (Mombasa, Malindi etc), and the rest such as Kikuyu, Luo and Kamba, etc are Bantus.
