What is the best hotel in Mombasa?

Help Pleaseee - Where to stay in Mombasa (north or south)?

Me and my husband are planning to have a trip to Mombasa and staying in the coastal area for one week. I've been reading articles about Mombasa and the hotels and as far as I'm concerned the north coast is safer in terms of beach boys and other vendors than the south coast. Is that true? I would love anybody to share their experience with me who had a holiday over there? We would like to stay in a hotel that has got a nice beach and also nice food plus clean room :) can those of you who had experience in Mombasa please share with me as I have so much information and too many hotels in my knowledge at the moment and I'm kinda lost :S Many thanks in advance...

Don't go anywhere before you know exactly where you are going! So much info these days on Google, Wikipedia, Yahoo... So many people to ask advice from... So many travel agencies, where you can get a good consultation... Just make sure you are not hopping into something you are not sure about! Cheers!
