No invitation letter needed to visit Dubai. You have to apply for a sponsored tourist visa. Tourist visas can be obtained through hotels, travel agencies or if flying with Emirates through the Airline directley. A tourist visa is valid for 30 days and will cost AED 100 + commission + a refundable deposit of AED 1.000 - AED 2.000 depending on Nationality.
