Is it safe to go to Kenya, Africa?

Where best to go in South Africa or Kenya? Want safari and beach...?

• Cant decide between the 2, as some people say that Kenya is dangerous at the moment? Is it?? Or should we go South africa? Where would be best? Want to stay in a hotel on the beach and then do a a day or few days on safari. Wheres best to go?? Going in April. Will also be 4 months pregnant so dont want anything too extreme

  SA. You'll be OK if you use normal street sense. Durban is a great beach resort. Long beach with showers under the palm trees, loads of guards...Jonathon Zulu, Brian Zulu, etc ( yup, really, the names are on the guard posts) and there are hotels just across the huge marine drive. It also has a market which is a girlie paradise for clothes and shoes and souvenirs and food and everything else at one end of the beach but beware of pickpockets like any crowded place. The weather is OK in April. You can get a bus from Joburg which is a long tiring journey but beautiful, or fly direct to Durban. Then off to the Kruger national park for a few days of lions and giraffes and eating like a Queen of Sheba cos the food in the lodges is just Brill! When you go to South Africa and stay in a decent hotel or some of the backpackers or a lodge you eat very well. In the Diamond Diggers backpacker in Kensington on the hills of Joburg we sat at a 14 foot walnut table and ate and ate and ate.......ohhhh, it was good living there.......rooftop swimming pool, gorgeous food, lovely rooms, all in a backpacker. Actually, if you went in the front door it's a hotel. If you book as a backpacker you went in via the garage door out the back for a quarter of the price, hahaha. I obviously saw it's better days though. The current reviews are not great. Much more varied than we get in the UK but they got the weather and the goodies and they use 'em. Oh,and traffic lights are robots. Don't laugh, it's serious. They're called robots. Have fun.
