  • Answer:

Hello Maya, UN official says that the situation in the Gaza Strip is 'grim and miserable' and this is what, two months after the siege? Israel used bombs that cause fire. Fires that cannot be put out with water. Doesn't this show that Israel wasn't looking for the Hamas "terrorists" but to destroy and drive the Palestinians off their OWN LAND? I`m disgusted with the Israeli government and hope they get what they deserve.

You can stay posted daily and even hourly courtesy of the Ma'an News Agency online,,just put it on Google. Conditions are appalling with severe shortages of everything but the 22-day mass-murder campaign is basically over although it could resume at any time. The Winter War we call it since it was basically the same formula the izzies used on Lebanon in the Summer War ('06); i.e. supposedly they are going in to root out alleged terrorists but all they do is shellack it from the air killing thousands of civilians which obviously would have no effect on militant groups since they would obviously have air-raid bunkers. So these are just mini-genocide jobs. Given the pounding with half-ton bombs the densely-populated Gaza City took it's astonishing casualties were not higher, but people are still dying long after sustaining their injuries so the death toll continues to rise. You would not want to see GC as it is now,not unless you have no heart and blood like ice. Khan Younis is carrying on and Rafah although both have also suffered horribly. But GC is like London after the 1940 Blitz. Signs of mass carnage everywhere. It's hard to take it in,to imagine what it must have been like to be there during the war. There are whole neighborhoods that are just crumpled up ruins and bodies are still being recovered daily. The UN has declared the entire air war a major human rights disaster. But don't expect anyone to suggest the idea of a gosh-can-we-even-say-it idea of a penalty of some sort. That would be anti-semitic.

An animator of the celebrated Israeli war film "Waltz with Bashir" has illustrated a new film depicting the life of a fictional boy in the Gaza Strip during the Israeli blockade of the coastal territory. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9aJZGl15awE
