What is going on in Oman?

Anyone have travel tips for going to Dubai, Oman, Saudi, or Qatar?

  • Answer:

We went to Dubai for a vacation. Great place. Freidnly people. Had a great time. Lots of shopping, beaches, amusements, cleaner than the US, good drinking water, etc. Enjoy your trip. Beware - it is VERY HOT! Go in the winter. If you go in the summer, the beach is really nice at 4 am. After 6 am it is too hot. Just don't believe everyone who sells you a name brand product. There are many copies there, too, but a fun place to shop anyway. People wear anything from string bikinis to full black hijabs on women at the beach. Respect them by being decent, polite, and kind, and enjoy the trip. Emirates Air is one of the best airlines out there, especially if travelling with kids. They really go out of their way to help out families, special toys, pulling us to the head of customs lines and all. I really enjoyed that trip and appreciated their hospitality.
