Does it seem like many conservatives think that "liberals" are only a small portion of the population?

Less people self-report as 'liberals' now because the right have systematically and deliberately demonized the word. 'Liberal' used to be a badge of honour and the vast majority of politicians would self-describe that way just 20 years ago, including the majority of Republicans. I'm a liberal and proud.

Nope. Normal people are not liberals. They may be left of center, but not liberal. Liberals are really only a very tiny sliver of the population. They like to delude themselves that everyone who votes democrat is liberal. Oh, sorry to destroy your delusion. You just go back to believe that liberals exist in great numbers.

There is nothing wrong with alot of "liberal" ideas, but its not a perfect world and over "political correctness" will be the downfall of our great nation.

Actually, the vast majority of the time the word "liberal" is used, except in self-reference, it simply means "them that I doesn't like". So, it's basically a meaningless label in most discussions, because most of the people using it don't have an actual definition, and the referenced group keeps getting redefined to prove whatever point the ranters are trying to make.
